SISTAS In the Know

Do you know your risk of contracting HIV?
Sistas in the Know is a program focused on addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic among heterosexual African-American women living in high-risk Chicago area communities. Through the program, women learn their status, receive prevention education, and have access to a wide variety of health care and support services. But most importantly, they can join a community that inspires and empowers them to take control of their health.
Everyone between the ages of 13 and 84 should be tested for HIV at least once. In fact, 1 in 9 women with HIV are unaware they have it. If you believe you are at increased risk for HIV, you should be tested at least once a year.
All 35 ACCESS health center locations provide comprehensive HIV services including:
- Screenings
- Prevention education
- PrEP medication
- Primary health care
- Behavioral health consultation
- Case management
- Patient advocacy
- Pastoral counseling
- Social and support services
